Kirsten M from A Letter from Home has asked if Holding Heaven is relaunching. Thanks for the idea, Kirsten! Well, yes – I guess it is, in suitably contemplative style. No fireworks (especially NOT in this heatwave), more a quiet musing over poetry and spirituality and a Nice Cup of Tea or other beverage of your choice.

So cut the woffle. What does it all mean? I’ve a glimmering of an idea: of a kind of miniature -sized poetry writing circle; simple reflections, no obligation, no testing , NO critiquing, positive one line, even one word collaborations. I’ll post a poem, or a suggestion, and then I’ll invite you to work together with me in the comments section. I’ve begun the first here. Do join me. Think of it like a playground for the soul if you like.
Of course, if you have any other flashes of inspiration, I’d love to hear them. See you in the playground!*
Look out of the window. Write one line about what you see, one line about how you feel and one line about what you hope will happen next.
[* Like all good playgrounds, keep it kind, keep it clean. Thank you.]
A green wheelie bin in the desert
I feel tired and squished up like a limp lettuce
Rain please!
Trees blowing in the wind
Annoyed – forgot the green bin
Still waiting for rain.
Sky darkening now
I’m tired, it’s been a long day
Now we need more rain.
