NaPoWriMo Day 11: Love

NaPoWriMo’s latest prompt: ‘Love.’ I’ve had a go at a Shadorma: a Spanish 6 line syllabic poem, with lines of 3/5/3/3/7/5 per stanza.

Love shows up
In many guises:
Love of self,
Of others;
Keeps the songwriters busy,
The card makers rich.

It wrecks lives,
Turns around others;
Gives purpose,
Spins the globe
In a giddy whirl of froth,
Bad poems and lace.

Yet the true,
The Faith, Hope and Love,
A rare bird;
Roams the world
Incognito, unnoticed,
Except when it’s gone
