Frankincense to offer have I;
Incense owns a Deity nigh;
Prayer and praising, all men raising.
Worship Him, God most high.
All together now…. Oohhh… Star of wonder, star of night, and listen to a unique version of the classic carol by the Piano Guys . from downtown New York!

” We try not to eat a lot in one day, even though most of us are really hungry.”
– Child in Channel Four UK Dispatches: Growing Up Poor
Wherever you live and however busy you are over the holidays, please remember those who struggle to afford to eat at any time of the year. Do give to your local foodbank. In the UK The Trussell Trust can point you to your nearest donation depot; they’re in many supermarkets and in church and community halls. Now is the time to give – so that supplies can be distributed by Christmas Day to those most in need of them.
Whilst talking foodbanks , I must give an HT to Greenpoint Reformed Church, NYC for all the work they do in their Hunger Program. I don’t live there, but visited for a Sunday service a few years back and was really impressed by what I heard. I know that DD and SIL , who live nearby, have donated in the past. Thanks for all you do.
Also – thanks to the church for inadvertently pointing me via the wonders of Facebook, to the New York Times article on Advent that I featured in D is for Darkness the other day.
Ah – the wonders of the internet!
🙂
????
The image of the man is really compelling. I might have to draw him! ????
Yes, it is a good time of year to give to others – especially to the food bank! ????
Yes- there is something haunting in his expression, isn’t there?
